In the early 1990s, Stephen Wan, who was an engineer of a Textile Research Institute (now General Manager of DayOptics), dabbled into the optical and electronic industry in a chat with his friends, and became very interested in this "sea of stars". So he resolutely chose to start from scratch and became a salesman in an optical company.

In 2001, the bubble in the global optical communication industry burst, and countless optoelectronic companies were acquired and bust, which put the budding Chinese optical market in jeopardy. In the face of chaotic bidding, inconsistent quality, and the distance from foreign countries, Stephen decided to integrate existing resources, called a group of outstanding talents in the industry, and founded Fuzhou Guangcheng Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.(former DayOptics)
